Buffr ® is a sensor that helps businesses support their employees and guests in observing 1.5 m distancing. Buffr ® can be used indoors and outdoors. Buffr ® emits an audio alert (5 beeps) when 2 or more Buffrs are within a 1.5 m radius of each other.

Buffer ® has a diameter of 36 mm, weighs approx. 14 grammes, and can easily be worn on clothes thanks to a special magnet that comes with it.

Buffr ® is intended for businesses in the Healthcare industry, Offices, Hospitality establishments, Government agencies, Factories and the like, where all employees or visitors can be equipped with a Buffr ®. However, Social Distancing is also important in museums and zoos, as well as any at other location where closed communities spend time together.

Certainly, Buffr ® is based on CE-certified technology that is widely used by our group. Buffr® uses wireless 2.4 Ghz Bluetooth.

Buffr ® uses Bluetooth to detect other units within a 1.5 m radius and emit an alert. The distance at which Buffr ® detects other units may differ, as factors such as the environment, the way Buffr ® is worn, and the direction from which users approach each other may affect the  proper functioning and accuracy of the device. Buffr ® is at its most accurate when users wear it on their clothes and when it faces other Buffrs.

Pressing Buffr ® twice activates it, pressing it three times deactivates it.

Buffr ® runs on the Renata CR2032 MFR, a high-quality Lithium button cell battery produced by Swiss brand Renata, a subsidiary of the Swatch Group. This brand was carefully selected to supply the batteries used in Buffr ®.

Starting from 1 July 2020, the Renate CR2032 will be available at Buffr ® and at many shops and suppliers.

Between 10 and 14 working days, depending on the number of times that a Buffr ® has been in contact with other Buffrs.

Users can contribute to efficient battery use by deactivating Buffr ® at the end of a working day or when it is not needed by pressing it three times.

Changing the battery is very easy and only takes a minute of your time. Hold the bottom of the Buffr ® and turn the top of the device counter-clockwise. Remove the old battery and replace it with a new one, with the   “+” facing up.

When the Buffr ® stops responding to other Buffrs, it’s time to replace the battery.
